Cherish Your Struggles

Keep Your Spirits Up!

Initially the title of this article may seem as if it runs contrary to your common sense. After all, we all hate to struggle. Dealing with difficulties in life can be scary, frustrating and exhausting. No one looks forward to going through one of life's rough patches, but we should. I haven't mastered this yet, but I'm certainly trying. I'm trying to embrace the challenges I face in my life rather than curse them. The reason for this is simple.

Dedication + Discipline = Diet Success

Keeping it Down Sign

"No steam or gas ever drives anything until it is confined. No Niagara is ever turned into light and power until it is tunneled. No life ever grows until it is focused, dedicated and disciplined."- Harry Emerson Fosdick (1878-1969, American minister)

One of the first questions I'm always asked is if I ever cheat on my low carb lifestyle maintenance diet, when, and how often. People are curious about what kind of dedicated discipline it takes to maintain my weight loss for so long - and because lately I've even shaved off a few more pounds.

The Music Inside YOU

Angel Tin

The definition of hell is the 'you' that might have been, meeting the 'you' that is...
The saddest words of mouth or pen, are simply these: it might have been...
When will my reflection show who I am inside...
Don't die with the music still inside you...

Love Thyself Mirror

One day I woke up and realized I was a girl.

Now that you've stopped laughing, let me explain. I always knew I was a girl, but one day I looked in the mirror and saw a feminine, slender, sexy person staring back at me. This person didn't want to wear baggy sweaters; she didn't want to go out without makeup; she didn't like the short, gnawed fingernails or clunky walk.
